When – 11/19/23 At 10.30am to 1pm(ish)
Aim to be at the boat launch at 10.30am and after introductions and prep, we can make our way to the water after that.
We can paddle the full perimeter in just over 2hrs or adjust to a shorter paddle based on paddler experience, capabilities and interests. There is a nice bay near the boat ramp that is big enough to test the boat and keep the ramp in sight.
Where – Diamond Lake, 21758-21998 Lake St, Cassopolis, MI 49031
It takes about 2 hrs (8 miles) to paddle round Diamond Lake. There is an island with ferry crossing and being a larger (inland) lake, the wind can create some larger waves and the nature of the lake changes a lot with the weather. So, sprayskirts and cold weather gear (drysuit) is recommended but a wetsuit may suffice. As the temperatures drop so does the boat traffic. The parking is limited at the ramp but there is additional parking across the street.
Who
The Paddle will allow you to demo/test paddle our Touring kayaks as well as others we may have in stock at the time. Why, because internet research is great but seat time on the water is the only way to determine if it is the right kayak for you or not. You would be surprised at how many folks change their minds about the boats after trying them on the water.
Group Size – Max 5

Weather
Extreme weather like Thunderstorms, Tornados etc will result in cancellation of the event. Beyond that we will most likely paddle but only if you have appropriate gear and experience for the conditions.
